Have you found the microphone you were seeking for? I know one man, who is a collector of best speech microphones, he has many rare mics in his Moscow studio, including the mics from 30′s, 40′s which used by leaders of empires for public appearance.

By the way, what would make such a DVD uniquely valuable is that it is much less likely to be simply downloaded by listeners, people would want to buy them. It should be advertised like End of an Era, which was screened in cinemas all over Germany (not sure about other countries). If Universal makes a big enough fuss about it, it WILL be a hit. Even classical listeners (generally older people) could turn out to buy such a release, especially if it is high-quality, and these are particularly in demand as an audience because they are ready to shell out a lot of money for high quality and don’t download. That’s part of the crossover potential I was thinking of. Both Sarah Brightman and Anna Netrebko fans could be enchanted by Tarja too.

It would be seriously stupid from Universal not to make such a DVD. But I think they lack competence in the metal sector and do not realise the marketability of such a product. I’ve always thought they are the wrong label and it has turned out that I’m right, they even neglect promotion because they underestimate the commercial potential of Tarja’s music. They simply don’t know how to market metal and how to reach potential audiences (which include a lot of people who are not even dedicated metal listeners – Tarja has a LOT of crossover potential, which makes her all the more valuable for a label from the commercial point of view), and are too close-minded. They keep missing marketing opportunities. For example, they’ve never managed to exploit the recent vampire stories boom, which ties in nicely with Tarja’s “gothic” image (and even a song about vampires on MWS), and would be a nice context to advertise Tarja in (for example the Vampire Diaries TV show), as would fantasy shows with strong female leads (such as Legend of the Seeker), whose audience is very sought for. When “Nemo” was advertised in the surrounding of “Charmed” in Germany, that was a smart move! It’s a shame that I, as a fan, have better ideas to promote Tarja than those people whose job it would be to come up with such ideas. The only reason why Universal have finally given in and grant Tarja a long leash and experiments is that she does perform acceptably, apparently, and that they are not particularly interested in her.

Tarja should at least make sure that a professional recording of the Miskolc concert is made (for example through SameEyes), and if Universal cannot be convinced of an official DVD release, it would be very nice of her to distribute the recording to her fans for free.

yes, as some others already have written above – a dvd of the Micolsc Concert would be unbelievably great!!!! Please ask Universal if this might be possible! Would be just wonderful to have this special concert on dvd!!
